Information Regarding Medical Trainees in the Practice
We are a Training Practice and our GP Trainees hold their own surgeries. These trainees are fully qualified Doctors and have worked in several specialised hospital posts before joining the practice but have to complete General Practice training in order to become a GP. Part of their training requires that some of their consultations be videoed but your verbal and written consent will be sought prior to this happening and please do not feel obliged to participate if this makes you feel uncomfortable.
Other Doctor Trainees attend as part of their post-graduate training and are generally here for a four-month period. They are qualified Doctors and are mentored by our Practice GPs during their training period.
Students are scheduled to attend the practice from the University of Aberdeen several times a year. You may be offered an appointment with one of these students. If you accept this you will be seen by them and then followed up by one of the Practice GP’s. These students are all in their final year and gain great experience of General Practice by spending this time with us and you.
